MiTuP #5 – Two Sides

Good or bad, my or your truth, dark or light, poor or rich, happy or sad, simple or complicated, close or distant, alone or together. Everything in life has two sides. Which side you want to see, to care about it up to you. Don’t forget there is never a single story about any place.

The Man with the Story

I met this men during the time I was in Germany. He impressed and fascinated me with his body language, his voice, his attitude, his question and his patience. He was our guide for some hours in the cold and dark underground construction/ mine built by prisoners (in 1944/45) who also were kept in concentration camps between ‘Uberlingen’ and ‘Aufrich’ . The way he told us about that specific place made me feel like it would had been a story… but unfortunately it wasn’t …we were informed about the way of working, the plan, the schedule, the way they survived or died, the way some of the prisoners tried to escape, the punishments they got and a lot of other ways we wouldn’t even imagine. I guess that day was kinda a ‘History Day’.

Never let go

When you don’t know what to do… when you don’t have a TV… when you had enough from the books your read…when your best friend is far far away… when outside is raining… when you feel cold…you simply put on a dvd with an unknown movie-title and start watching it…yeah that was the way it happened. This time I watched the movie called The Guardian.

I can still hear the soft voice from the beginning which definitely made me feel like a 5 years old kid who was waiting surprisingly with amazed eyes what is going to happen…and so it began:

“There’s a legend of a man who lives beneath the sea. He’s a FISHER of men, the last hope of all those who have been left behind. Many survivers claim to have felt his gripping hands beneath them, pushing them up to the surface, whispering strength until help arrive. But, this of course it’ s just a LEGEND.”

And now have you ever asked yourself: “What makes a legend?…. It is what someone did when they’re alive… or how they’re remembered after they’re gone?”

And there is another interesting text that gave me the creeps…:

“Can you lay your life down, so a stranger can live?
Can you take what you need, but take less than you give?
Could you close every day, without the glory and fame?
Could you hold your head high, when no one knows your name?
Can you lose everything, you ever had planned?
Can you sit down again, and play another hand?
Could you risk everything, for the chance of being alone?
Under pressure find the grace, or would you come undone?
That’s how LEGENDS are made, at least that’s what they say?

We say goodbye, but never let go.
We live, we die, cause you can’t save every soul.
Gotta take every chance to, show that you’re the kinda man who;
Will never look back, never look down and NEVER LET GO.”(B.A.)

.

So… “What makes a legend?”
